Hearing Back and Speeches: Nov 2nd - Nov 7th

During week nine of ISM, I was able to schedule my first interview! It is with Dr. Binita Parikh, a past anesthesiologist and now family medicine practitioner. I was able to practice my cold calling skills in order to set up this interview, and I am very excited to be able to gain more insight into the medical field. I intend to ask her about what the environment of a big hospital is like, as well as her opinion of the unbalanced male dominated nature of the medical field. In addition, I hope to share my original work idea, and see what she thinks of it, as well as incorporate any advice that she may have. Lastly, I hope to ask her about her connections in the cardiology field, possibly getting a new contact for an interview assessment and maybe even a potential mentor.

In addition, during this week I also made my second speech presentation. I discussed my mission, research, interview assessments, and my original work. It was cumulative, showing all that I have done up to this point in the year. Public speaking is not my forte, but I am excited to share all that I have learned throughout this year with my peers.
